Plan Installation Kit

Plan Sponsor Actions for Plan Setup

In order to set up plan information on the new recordkeeping system, the sponsor will need to review and sign the plan installation kit.

American Funds will draft the kit based on plan specifications from RecordkeeperDirect® and inputs from the TPA. Then, at least six weeks before the conversion weekend, the implementation coordinator will provide the kit to the plan sponsor, along with instructions and a date for its return.

The Plan Installation Kit Will Include:

  • A table of contents
  • A summary of the features and services to be established
  • An authorization form that approves the plan installation kit and the contacts who will sign on behalf of the plan
  • A transfer request form that details the plan assignment from RecordkeeperDirect to PlanPremier®-TPA
  • An authorization form establishing access levels for plan websites
  • The plan loan policy, if applicable
  • An addendum establishing multiple payroll divisions and locations, if applicable
  • A recordkeeping service agreement detailing the services provided by PlanPremier-TPA and establishing a contract with American Funds

Verifying the plan installation kit information and authorizing the documents are time-sensitive tasks, so a sponsor who has questions or requires changes should contact their implementation coordinator as soon as possible.
