Ann Gookin

Partner and Head of Investments, Freestone Capital Management

 

Ann is a member of Freestone’s leadership team and the Head of Investments, in which capacity she leads the team’s daily operational functions, including trading, due diligence, and strategy. She is also responsible for Freestone’s marketing and recruiting teams. Prior to joining Freestone in 2016, Ann spent her career in business operations and strategy roles, the bulk of which was spent with the D. E. Shaw group in New York and in London.

 

Ann was recognized on InvestmentNews’ Hot List of Top Financial Professionals in the U.S. in 2025.

 

Ann earned her undergraduate degree from Columbia University, where she was a member of the Academic Awards Committee of the Columbia College Student Council. She also sang with the Columbia’s Collegium Musicum, a group focused on performance of the music of the Middle Ages and Renaissance.

 

Ann currently serves as a trustee on the ArtsFund board, where she sits on the governance, finance, and audit committees. She is also a member of the choir at Epiphany Parish in Seattle. In her spare time, Ann enjoys reading, lifting weights, and blazing new trails with her dog, Ravi.
