How to Import Your Tax Information
Learn more about importing your tax information to TurboTax® or H&R Block®.
H&R Block
Follow these steps to import your tax information to H&R Block. Technical questions about H&R Block should be directed to the H&R Block website.

Go to the Federal tab.

Click Income.
Income

Click Add, and then Visit Topic on any of the items that apply to your investments:
- Retirement plan income, withdrawals, and rollovers (Form 1099-R)
- Dividends or capital gain distributions (Form 1099-DIV)
- Sales of stocks, bonds, mutual funds and other securities (Form 1099-B)
Financial Institution

Click on Other.

Enter American Funds.

Click Next.
Import from American Funds

User Name — Enter your fund and account number separated by a comma. For example, 01,12345678 (no spaces).

Password — Enter your capitalgroup.com password.

Click Import.

On the American Funds Import Summary page, click Finish.
Imported information

Click Edit to review your tax information or make any changes.

Click Next to review any other forms that were imported for your account or continue with your tax preparation.
Repeat the steps above if you have additional tax information to import.
