Robert Burgess is a fixed income portfolio manager at Capital Group. He also serves on the Fixed Income Management Committee. He has 36 years of investment industry experience and has been with Capital Group for 10 years. Earlier in his career at Capital, as a fixed income investment analyst, he had research responsibility for emerging market debt. Prior to joining Capital, Robert worked as chief economist for emerging markets in Europe, the Middle East and Africa at Deutsche Bank. Before that, he was an economist at the International Monetary Fund and HM Treasury. He holds a master’s degree in economics from the University of London and a bachelor’s degree in politics and economics from Oxford University. Robert is based in London.
