The DeVoe RIA Deal Book™

The DeVoe RIA Deal Book seeks to track and analyze the trends of RIA mergers and acquisitions. Leveraging founder David DeVoe’s experience tracking RIA M&A for more than 17 years — longer than anyone in the industry — DeVoe & Company reports on activities and analyzes trends to bring deeper insight.

The RIA Deal Book’s purview is to focus primarily on the acquisitions and mergers of true RIAs, and only on transactions of $100 million or more in AUM. DeVoe’s research methodology limits its tracking to $100 million-plus RIAs to optimize statistical accuracy. The firm seeks to screen out the SEC-registered hedge funds, IBDs, mutual fund companies, and other companies that aren’t operating as traditional RIA firms. It also excludes the “advisors joining RIAs” category, unless there are important distinctions that merit their inclusion.

DeVoe’s goal is to provide the RIA community with the very best M&A data on the 5,000-plus SEC-registered RIAs so that advisors can make more informed strategic decisions about their practices.

Capital Group supports the quarterly RIA Deal Book as part of its commitment to helping RIAs meet their clients’ needs. David DeVoe is also a member of Capital Group’s RIA Advisory Board, a group of leading business practitioners and industry executives brought together to provide expert insight tailored to RIAs’ needs.
