A consortium was organized to privatize Metalplast, Poland’s leading manufacturer of structural insulated panels (SIPs). SIPs are sandwich panels of steel and insulation materials used for exterior walls and roofs, and popular in commercial and industrial construction. Metalplast dominated the Polish SIP market with a 60% market share at the time of privatization.
