A holding company for Pannonia (HOLPA) bought 51% of Pannonia Hotels Rt, a large Hungarian hotel chain, from the Hungarian government in 1993. At privatization, Pannonia managed 12 hotels in Budapest, five hotels on the shores of Lake Balaton, as well as 10 hotels in Austria and Germany.
