Report cards are out, and American Funds is delighted to announce that we’ve received a Morningstar Stewardship grade A. Morningstar cited our corporate culture, fund board quality, fund manager incentives, fees, and regulatory history as reasons for the top grade. Additionally, they recognized the enhancements that we’ve made to our bond business along with the launch of new funds of funds. The stewardship grade looks at, among other things, a firm’s corporate culture ― how funds are run ― and not at fund strategy, risk or return.
