Investing in our environment

Our sustainability strategy includes a commitment to carbon neutrality in our business operations by 2026 through meaningful emissions reduction and offsetting. This commitment includes Scope 1, Scope 2 and Scope 3 business travel.

Scope 1 and 2 emissions include direct and indirect emissions caused by a company's business operations and energy use. Scope 3 emissions include indirect emissions from associate business travel.

SPOTLIGHT

Reducing carbon emissions around the world

While we prioritise carbon emissions reduction, we utilise offsets for emissions that we cannot eliminate. We purchase carbon credits, which are used to help finance projects across the globe that help reduce the need to burn fossil fuels or enable the absorption of greenhouse gases. These projects include protecting tropical forests in Brazil, providing energy-efficient cookstoves in Rwanda, and generating renewable energy in India.

Investing in our people:
Diversity and inclusion

Our differences make us better. Across Capital, we work to build diverse teams within a culture that seeks to promote a true sense of belonging. A variety of backgrounds and life experiences provide different perspectives, which we believe leads to better ideas and better results for the people we serve.

SPOTLIGHT

We nurture diversity and are determined to create an inclusive workplace where everyone feels welcomed, valued and respected. We also continue to encourage change beyond our walls by increasing our contributions to nonprofit organizations that are advancing racial equity and social justice.

Investing on behalf of our clients

Our mission is to improve people's lives through successful investing. Our investment decisions consider how a company impacts its community, its customers, its suppliers and its employees. This information helps us understand risks and find opportunities.

We've long considered environmental, social and governance issues in our investment decisions. In fact, we've developed a systematic approach that integrates ESG into our investment process. We also actively participate in organizations that advance these issues within the financial industry.
