The calculator estimates annual Social Security benefits as 40% of your salary in your final year of work (current salary adjusted for raises) up to the 2025 annual maximum of $48,216 per person.
You can enter your estimates up to the 2025 annual maximum. Estimates will be adjusted for raises up to a maximum of $48,216. If you are single and ineligible to receive Social Security, enter “0.” If you are married, the calculator assumes that the spouse earning less receives the Social Security amount entered, or half of the higher earning spouse’s Social Security benefit, whichever is greater (after adjustments for raises). If you or your spouse is not eligible to receive Social Security, restart the calculator and run the detailed version for each spouse separately, and indicate “Single.”
The amount of Social Security benefits depends on a worker’s salary, the length of time spent contributing to Social Security and the age at which Social Security benefits begin. More accurate estimates are available from the U.S. Social Security Administration. You may have an estimate on your Social Security statement.
